Union Cafe ..

Establish approx year 1966 when the English won their own game. Located somewhere in the jungle (then it was not even known as town and I was not even born yet! :P) , it was one of the oldest shop on the area. A place where town-folks gather and gossips the day's happening, it was a busy night everyday. Well that what I was told when I had finally learned to walk (it took me 2 years to learn to talk though as what my parents told me). Ah.. Union Cafe was formally known as Kedia Kopi dan Makanan Union and besides the shop was one of the OLDEST cinema in the states. Pawagam Union (Union Theater) was not related to the cafe but the name.

I still remember the cinema where I grow up, I am free to access to all of its proximity. I had been into its show room where you had this machine that projects movie onto the screen below and I had helped with the rewinding of the film. You will see this 2 wheel that was attached together which does the rewinding. It looks like a bicycle overturn with the wheels facing upwards. Then you have the paddle to turn the wheel to rewind the film. Yes, at that time they still rewind the film manually.

Oh yeah, and that happen in the year ~1985. Now coming soon to 2005 my home town had changed a lot. Transformation of Rubber Plantation to Housing estates, Paddy fields to North South Highway.. My hometown had changed a lot.
